Complete seismic and functional renovation of a 5,574-m² (60,000-ft²) steel-framed paint hangar, circa 1963, to accommodate state-of-the-art technologies for painting 737-series aircraft. The renovation incorporates airflow systems, cranes, and seismic retrofit upgrades and features a 62-m (204-ft) arched roof. An innovative shoring system froze the site soil to facilitate excavation, which also solidified and immobilized groundwater from an adjacent river, avoiding environmental issues and reducing costs.
