A 35,303-m² (380,000-ft²) concourse addition, 488 m (1,600 ft) long by just 27.4 m (90 ft) wide on a very constricted site, with passenger space, ticketing areas, security checkpoints, retail/dining, baggage operations, airline support space, and a new departure curb. To accommodate the architect’s vision of dramatic swoops, curves, and a 16.7-m- (55-ft-) high ceiling, MKA developed a structural framing system never before used at a major airport. The project team created and shared a fully integrated Building Information Model during design and construction.
