A 5,295-m² (57,000-ft²) museum organized around a linear ’fjord’ containing permanent and changing galleries, an auditorium, classrooms, cafe area, administrative offices, and one level of below-grade parking for 100 cars. The Nordic Museum is the largest museum in the United States to feature artifacts and exhibits from all five Nordic countries: Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden. Civil elements included the design of new entry and landscape areas, a surface parking lot, public street improvements, concepts for stormwater management and drainage, and added bioretention facilities and rainwater harvesting elements.
