New 56,900-m² (612,462-ft²) design/build airport terminal featuring a new arrivals level, departure level, and mezzanine. MKA’s structural system utilizes a “seismic spine” along the radially shaped terminal, creating open and adaptable spaces throughout. The structural materials were tailored to achieve a low-carbon footprint with the goal of exceeding LEED Platinum. MKA developed the schematic design for expanding and seismically retrofitting Boarding Area C, which adjoins the new terminal.
