Singapore Airlines Hangars 4 and 5

Singapore, Singapore
Two design/build hangars accommodating aircraft as large as the B747-400. MKA’s innovative structural system features a 62.2-m (204-ft) clear span and supports teleplatforms and overhead cranes. Each roof was designed to be built on the ground and lifted to final elevation in one assembly, with the perimeter columns used as “lift towers” during the process, resulting in increased safety and reduced construction time and cost. Hangar 5 was also designed to accommodate future aircraft painting.
