Three-story, 4,355-m² (46,880-ft²) music building with a 400-seat recital hall, recording studios, instructional spaces, and practice and rehearsal rooms. MKA’s redesign of an initial structural concept (by others) replaced steel with concrete for improved acoustics and reduced building size, material quantities, and overall cost. A "box in a box" design technique isolates the performance spaces from surrounding sounds and vibration.
