SELECT PROJECT AWARDS:
  • Distinguished Project Award, Public Projects over $10 Million, Northwest Construction Consumer Council (NWCCC)

Eight-story, 25,363-m² (273,000-ft²) bed tower, adjacent to an existing medical center, with diagnostic imaging space, 32 acute-care beds, 50-bed neonatal intensive care unit, and a phased vertical expansion with civil site design for 0.8 hectares (2 acres). Designed for phased construction, the first five floors were built as Phase 1 and the top three as Phase 2. MKA developed multiple framing systems to allow new floor heights to match existing and address stringent vibration requirements. MKA Civil coordinated extensive utility relocations, performed loading dock turning studies, and developed the site’s excavation shoring system.
