MKA provided civil site design for the 836-m² (9,000-ft²) downtown Seattle park that included stormwater infrastructure in the form of bioretention planters and permeable paving areas, as well as curb bulbs and street improvements along both street frontages. The park utilizes the existing below-grade building slab as a barrier from the underlying contaminated soils. Fill for the existing below-grade structure was selected and placed strategically to provide a below-grade gravel detention facility. The site utilizes permeable pavers to direct stormwater to the underlying detention facility. Right-of-way improvements include rain gardens on Lenora Avenue.
