Committed to Public Service
Our Civic Specialist Group has designed projects for government entities at the federal, state, and local levels, involving new construction as well as expansions, renovations, and upgrades. These projects range from city halls, courthouses, justice centers, and capitol buildings to high-performance "Essential Facilities" such as 911 centers and police and fire stations. We are skilled at coordinating the needs of multiple stakeholders and interpreting agency-specific codes and standards. Often, the creation of economical yet aesthetically pleasing buildings is realized through the expression of structure as architecture, seen often in MKA’s civic designs.
Featured Government Projects
MKA pioneered the development of blast-resistant curtain walls and new structural systems that resist progressive collapse, blast, and vehicular impacts for enhanced public safety.
