Senior Principal

Kevin Aswegan, PE, SE

Since joining MKA in 2013, Kevin has quickly advanced, leading major structural mixed-use high-rise designs in cities such as San Francisco, Miami, Houston, and Toronto. With a focus on advanced Performance-Based Design, he recently managed the groundbreaking ATX Tower project in Austin, the world’s first use of Performance-Based Wind Design. Kevin holds multiple leadership positions in ASCE/SEI, and his contribution to national code development is helping usher in the next wave of PBD standards!

James Mahoney, PE, SE, LEED AP

Involved in the latest generation of cutting-edge hospitals and research facilities, James is a skilled project manager in MKA’s Healthcare Group. Balancing building performance and flexibility with state-of-the-art approaches to vibration mitigation, James contributes innovative and cost-effective engineering solutions for clients seeking exceptional performance in critical healthcare environments. His latest ambitious project—managing the design for the new Harborview Medical Center Expansion in Seattle!

Josh Mouras, PE, SE

As MKA’s go-to specialist for complex steel structures, Josh provides exceptional technical insights across diverse building types and environments—especially related to steel detailing, seismic design, and constructability. Serving as both an AISC committee member and MKA’s Steel Technical Specialist Team Leader, he not only manages projects but also mentors team members, ensuring innovative solutions and excellence in execution.
