MKA proudly gathered to celebrate Chairman Emeritus Jon D. Magnusson, PE, SE, Dist.M.ASCE, F.SEI, NAC, NAE, on 50 years of service as a structural engineer and leader with our firm.
From the Seattle Central Library and Lumen Field to T-Mobile Park, MoPOP, and projects around the world, Jon’s career has been defined by technical innovation, bold thinking, mentorship, and service. His influence lives not only in the structures he helped bring to life, but also in the people and profession he helped shape.
The evening was filled with surprises, including a video tribute to Jon’s career. Of course it only could show a mere fraction of the work Jon helped lead and inspire! In recognition of his extraordinary career and lasting impact on Seattle, the City of Seattle proclaimed September 17, 2026, Jon D. Magnusson Day.
Congratulations, Jon—and thank you for five decades of vision, leadership, and impact.
