Beatriz is an Associate with a portfolio reflecting office, residential, historic preservation, and renovation projects, including intimate yet iconic interior renovations, whole building seismic retrofits, new towers up to 100 stories tall, and developments as large as 1.9 million square feet. She specializes in creatively and efficiently adapting existing structures to meet architectural designs as part of complex structural renovations. She also is knowledgeable in Performance-Based Seismic Design, having designed projects in seismically active urban areas like San Francisco and Seattle. Beatriz leads MKA’s Existing Building Technical Specialist Team (TST) and is a member of the Earthquake, Foundations, and Performance-Based Design TSTs.
