MKA developed a civil site design for this world-class, 8.8-acre, urban park that respects a historic, subterranean acequia running through the center of the site. Located adjacent to the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center, a private hotel, and a future residential development, the park required a sophisticated water management approach. MKA’s sustainable design leverages onsite water resources to meet all irrigation and water feature demands, realizing the vision of a year-round, heavily landscaped park with multiple water features—free from Edwards Aquifer water-use restrictions.
