San Jose (SJC) Mineta Terminal B

Terminal B’s innovative design features three levels attached to and serving Concourse B and the South Concourse (both designed by MKA) and incorporates the first-ever use of a “special truss moment frame” seismic restraint system at a major airport. The innovative system enhances layout flexibility, readily accommodates expansion plans, provides open and unobstructed space, performs well in earthquakes, and reduces construction costs by 10%. The project’s design also accommodates a phased expansion.
