The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) has honored MKA Chairman and CEO Ron Klemencic with this year’s Henry L. Michel Award for Industry Advancement of Research.
ASCE recognized Ron for his leadership roles at the MKA Foundation and the Charles Pankow Foundation, two organizations supporting the research and development of innovative advancements in the built environment’s design and construction, and his work to advance industry innovations such as Performance-Based Seismic Design, Performance-Based Wind Design, SpeedCore, and the Embodied Carbon in Construction Calculator.
The award was presented to Ron on October 20, 2023, as part of ASCE’s annual conference in Chicago, Illinois. The award, established in 1996 and named after the Past Chair of the Civil Engineering Research Foundation (CERF) Board of Directors, recognizes leaders who provide the cornerstones for improving the quality of people’s lives worldwide through research in the design and construction industry.
