Ongoing professional development is a way of life at MKA, with literally hundreds of opportunities. Working with us on world-class structures and sites, our teams will be rounding out the technical experience you gained in school. We take very seriously our responsibility to provide the technical and professional training necessary to create the next generation of industry leaders. Community Outreach

MKA employees are out in the community making a difference. For example, we founded the Washington chapter of the ACE (Architecture/Construction/Engineering) student mentoring program, we volunteer lecture for University of Washington graduate-level structural engineering classes, and we support our community through donations and employee participation in events such as Food Lifeline’s “Food Frenzy,” local science fairs, United Way, and many others. Engineering Internships

The mission of MKA’s internship program is simple: we want to show you what we do and how we do it. MKA generally brings in five to seven interns each summer, letting them experience true hands-on engineering. Students are part of a project team and exposed to actual day-to-day engineering. They work on world-class projects currently in design; validate their chosen career direction; find unmatched training opportunities; have access to MKA’s extensive continuing education and training programs; and attend any of MKA’s technical specialist group meetings.

MKA Structural Interns typically work for two or three months during the summer between their bachelor’s and master’s degree programs.

Applications for Summer 2024 internships are now closed. Please check back in November to apply for Summer 2025!
