Gateway of Pacific Phases 2 & 3

This multi-phase life science development includes an eleven-story building and an eight-story building with a large atrium, laboratory and office space, underground parking for 350 vehicles, and a landscaped plaza supported on structure. The buildings were designed to meet a tight vibration requirement of 4,000 MIPs plus heavy live loads. MKA's suggestion to utilize a deeper concrete deck system to improve vibration performance and structural efficiency allows for lighter steel floor beams and ultimately saved the developer over $1.3 million in structural costs.
